    We are looking for someone who can establish and execute a vision for the delivery of information and analytics platforms and solutions to our key stakeholders and who can help transform CWG into a business that truly differentiates and competes on analytics.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Develops, maintains, tests and implements ETL packages and processes to migrate data from source systems into data warehouses and Data Mart. 
    • Manages the full lifecycle of the ETL process, ensuring the data quality of the data on load, supporting the programming and reporting teams and ensuring the performance of the data load processes.
    • Collaborates with the architecture, Database Administrator, development and business intelligence resources to ensure availability of data and seamless data flow.
  • Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Computer Science
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in SQL, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS & T-SQL
    • Completion of or working toward AINS, AIT or similar designation
    • Property and Casualty Insurance industry experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of company applications and the processing flow for the data owned by the Company.  Knowledge of integration technologies, i.e. Web Services, a plus.

    ​Our Great Lakes Region is looking for an experienced middle market commercial lines underwriter to join the team in our Indianapolis office. 

    In summary, you will evaluate (select and price) and maintain (control) risk acceptability and profitability within the company's underwriting guidelines and procedures for Middle Market commercial risks. Manage and maintain good agency-company relationships. Meet and maintain the profitability and production standards established.

    Your position duties and responsibilities include:

    ·         Gather appropriate information to profitably underwrite a variety of Middle Market commercial risks.

     ·         Research, formulate and implement solutions for complex issues and accounts.

     ·         Determine final coverages and pricing for commercial risks within assigned authority level.

     ·         Review claims and loss information on individual risks. Use this information to identify and re-evaluate accounts and develop strategy for dealing with exposures and frequency issues.

     ·         Take a lead role relative to Key Account review and recommendations.

     ·         Take ownership of your underwriting territory through strong book management skills.

     ·         Work to develop and maintain agency relationships with a focus on long-term profitability and growth.

     ·         Work in collaboration with Loss Control partners to focus on controlling exposures and maintaining controls.  Join Loss Control on visits with individual accounts.

     ·         Maintain established quality and service standards.

     ·         Establish strong working relationships with key producers.

     ·         Mentor less experienced underwriters and serve as a resource for others within the department as needed.

     

  • Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    • 5 years of commercial underwriting experience, preferably with middle market accounts
    • In-depth knowledge of coverages including CGL, Property, BOP, Auto, Crime, Inland Marine, Umbrella and WC

    Continental Western Group's Great Lakes Region is looking for a small accounts commercial lines underwriter to join the team in our Indianapolis office. 

    In this role, you will be responsible for the underwriting, profitability, growth and retention of new and renewal small commercial accounts within an assigned territory.  While the focus of your position will be underwriting small accounts, you will partner with your middle market underwriters as well as your Business Development Manager to build agency relationships and identify opportunities to write new business and retain existing business for CWG.   

    Specifically, you will…

    • Underwrite accounts that fall within the definition of small commercial.
    • Ensure all policies are underwritten utilizing the workflows, processes and services standards established for small commercial lines accounts.
    • Build and manage strong agency relationships.
    • Sell and market both our small commercial products and our on-line rating platform.
    • Educate agents within the assigned territory on our small commercial eligibility and appetite.

    Continental Western Group (CWG) is looking to hire an experienced Commercial Lines Middle Market Underwriting Manager for our Des Moines (Urbandale) Regional Office.  In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing an assigned Commercial Underwriting unit to support the company's business plan goals of profitability, managed growth and enhanced competitive advantage.

    • *Well rounded experience and an in-depth knowledge of Commercial insurance programs, policies, practices, coverages, forms and underwriting strategies
    • *Advanced insurance education, e.g., INS, AU, CPCU, CIC
